Boys will be boys

Today was a blast from the past when we were visited by 2 lads that my 2 used to spend all their time with. In fact way back in Infants school there was a great little group of kids that all used to play together both at school and out of school too. Us mums got on really well too. Me and the Twins' mum would often get together with a bottle of wine (Or 2) and have a good gossip and a few laughs but unfortunately they moved away a few years ago and although we have tried, with one thing and another it has been hard to keep in touch.
That is why it was so nice when DS got an email out of the blue the other day asking if they could come round.

The saddest thing today though was that DD felt very left out. When they were younger, it didn't matter that she was a girl and they all used to do things together but today they didn't even seem to acknowledge her. I know that as they are 13 now, Girls become an alien species, I have seen it happen with the boys in the street too that she used to play with but it would have been lovely for all 4 of them to go off and play together again.

Hopefully now they will keep in touch and as they are old enough they can get together a bit more and I might even get up to Spondon to visit me old mate again :-)
