Listening to Radio 1 has been heaven this week. From Saturday until Wednesday they were playing only British artists from the last 40 years. Taking you back in time with the likes of The Beatles; Rolling Stones; Queen; KLF even 5ive and Another level & Whitesnake was heard at some point. Loads of Oasis and Blur and Pulp and lots of acts you haven't heard for years.
It was all in the run up the the Brits Awards last night...A celebration of British Music if you will. Now its back to normal and you can see what utter crap the present playlistis, as now it is back to the American Rap claptrap that they insist on forcing on us 24/7.
I think that The Brits should launch their own radio/music TV channel That would be wonderful to listen to.

Is your golden oldies all Brits??? ;-)
My personal station is mostly Brits plus some American stuff from the 60s and 70s (you can listen if you launch it from the radio list on my page)but other people have added some very odd things to the global station
